The ERCB has issued a new revision of Directive 017: Measurement Requirements for Upstream Oil and Gas Operations. The new revision includes three new sections: Section 12.4: Thermal In Situ Oil Sands Operations, Section 14: Liquids Measurement, and Section 15: Water Measurement. The new directive can be found here.

The ERCB has issued three draft sections of Directive 017 for industry consultation. The three drafts are Section 12.4: Thermal In Situ Oil Sands Operations, Section 14: Liquids Measurement, and Section 15: Water Measurement. The ERCB has made effective "Directive 076: Operator Declaration Regarding Measurement and Reporting Requirements", putting their EPAP program into effect. Operators now have two years from January 4, 2010 to make their first declaration using the EPAP system. Trial declarations may be made in the first year with no risk of enforcement due to non-compliance.
